The world of watches recently witnessed an extraordinary event, the sale of the most expensive watch in the world during the OnlyWatch charity auction held by Christie's in Geneva, Switzerland. The Patek Philippe brand was able to achieve the "most expensive wrist watch in the world", after the Grandmaster Chime design was sold for $ 31 million. It is not the first time that the Swiss brand has won this title, as it was previously awarded in the year 2014 when one of its old watches, dating back to 1933, was sold for $ 24 million.
The last auction lasted for just 5 minutes, and was received by someone who participated in the auction over the phone, without revealing his identity. This auction bore the name "Just an Hour", and its will was dedicated to helping charitable societies concerned with muscular dystrophy patients.
Grandmaster Chime’s high price is because it is a unique piece and is available in a single edition dating back to 2014. Its manual manufacture required more than 100,000 hours of work.

Stainless steel and white gold are included in its design. It also has two sides, one in rose gold and the other in luxurious black ebony wood.

It was launched to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Swiss luxury brand Patek Philippe, and is considered one of the most sophisticated watches in its industry.
